I have experienced situations where my perception has been affected by stress. The anxiety of the situation blinded me and made me unable to think clearly. Negative overthinking and fear clouded my mind and overpowered me.
By practicing self-care and relaxing I was able to feel better and de-stress. More specifically, taking a day off from work helped. Staying home, doing nothing, and resting were restorative.
Prayer has been instrumental in my life. By praying, I can refocus on what really matters and prioritize my daily responsibilities. It has been a driving force against negativity and pessimism.
I have realized that by being intentionally mindful of the present moment I am a more content and peaceful person. Mindfulness has resulted in increased satisfaction, better decision making, and a more productive life.
