Emotional Wellbeing
Many of the aspects of emotional wellbeing are linked to other dimensions, particularly social aspects. Your emotional development and control as well as how well you cope with life’s challenges are considered in this dimension. Additionally, the following aspects are also explored: having a sense of autonomy, positive self-development, trust, and attachment.
The material for this dimension starts with a video of Simone Cox talking about her personal journey to emotional wellbeing. She shares the challenges she faced and why it was so important to overcome seemingly insurmountable negatives in her life. This dimension will ask you to be self-reflective to better understand how you can become more autonomous in the positive development of your professional and personal self.

A growing body of research suggests that children and adolescents who share frequent meals with their families report better nutrition indicators, family relationships, and mental health. Yet, little research has examined whether parents who share meals with their families report the same indicators of wellbeing. This paper addresses this question using population-based survey data and a sample of parents in the United States (n=889, mean age 31 years) that responded to the fourth wave of the Project EAT study in 2015–16. Findings from this study suggest that parents who have frequent family meals are better off in terms of social and emotional wellbeing. These findings are significant as it is well known that parents' mental wellbeing affects the health and wellbeing of their children.
