Acrostic Poem:

Particularly unique
Always kind
Talkative human being
Ingenious ideas
Energetic
Never unwilling to try something new
Consistently caring for others
Empathetic person

  1. It is my belief that all global issues and crises challenge an individual’s values and ethics. I say “all” because everyone might have stronger feelings or one particular crisis/issue than others. For me, my values and ethics are challenged by global warming and world hunger because as technology advances, so does the human race, and it is causing the Earth to die quicker. With world hunger, I also find this crisis to be a juxtaposition to all of the technological advancements humans have accomplished, without possibly solving world hunger by now. I think that an individual can read peer reviewed articles/journals/books about these different crises/issues to educate themselves, so that they aren’t misinformed. An individual can also reach out to different people who are also fighting for the same cause to learn how to act, think, and feel if he/she/they were to be involved in protests or a gathering of any kind related to the crises/issues.

  2. Teaching and helping others gives me a sense of meaning and purpose in my life. I’ve always enjoyed helping people in any way that I can because it not only helps someone to feel better about whatever was troubling them, as well as making myself happy. To focus on achieving, I constantly ask questions to clarify any confusion I may have, I may speak to other people to see what they feel or think about a certain topic, as well as performing a task or doing an activity to the best of my ability (even if it may be at the last minute).

  3. Truthfully, being alone challenges my sense of connectedness to others because I thrive on being around people and interacting with them. While telephone conversations help, it isn’t quite the same as being surrounded by people throughout each day (and yes, sometimes it helps to be alone to refocus yourself). To protect myself from doubt, I repeat affirmations to myself with memories to remind myself that I can achieve whatever I put my mind to and that I ultimately want what’s best for myself and everyone that I connect with.
