Question #3. Are there ways of meeting “nice people like us” on social media? Or, is it a place that only offers opportunities for us to mutually approve of each other while demonizing someone else?

I wouldn't use the term "nice people like us" on social media. I would use the term people with similar interests. Social media just like everything else has its pros and cons. It is what you make of it. Some are too addicted to it, some use it for fun, some use it for negative purposes, and some just use it once in a while. Social media can be a great forum to organize meet ups, arrange flea markets and tag sales, and keep in touch with old friends. I personally don't focus on or use any social media for demonization of people. When i do see it, I just ignore it.
