Social media is a great platform for the democratization of justice because it allows for people to become connected and issues to be brought to the public's attention. Before social media, the ways news was disseminated was by the television, print (newspapers or magazines), or word of mouth. Now social media is transforming the ways people communicate and get information immediately. Groups of people can use the information they receive from Facebook or twitter to form a cause and use the cause to confront issues that need to be changed or challenged.
