  1. Some great ways to be active include joining team and community sport leagues. This could encourage you to play with friends while also increasing your activity. This is also beneficial for maybe people who aren’t close with many others because they can increase their activity while also meeting new people. Another way to stay active can be even taking a 30 minute walk each day. YouTube is a great resource for at home-workout as well if you can’t make it to the gym or you only have time for a quick 20minute work out.
  2. I try to make my active lifestyle a focal point. I know personally when I work out, I feel better and this drives me to also do other work that I have. It takes a lot of time and scheduling but it’s worth it in the long run. I think it’s also important to note that if there are too many things going on, it is completely ok to skip a workout here and there and to not feel guilty for doing that. Rest days are also really important. If you work out all the time you will burn out and get sick of doing it which might lead to contempt towards working out. Listen to your body for when it needs a day or two to rest.
  3. I personally find balance by planning. When it comes to my meals, I try to make them on a Saturday or Sunday for the upcoming week. Concerning exercise, I try to work out on the weekends, and I do this by generally waking up early in the morning on the weekends as well. Waking up early to exercise motivates me to also get my work done once I return. Luckily at my school where I student teach students do 20 minutes of yoga in the morning and we do it with them, so I also participate in that. I also take the train into the city to class and will walk from the train station to the Lincoln center campus and will walk back when I am going home. This usually ends up being about a 2-mile walk in total.
