Due to the pandemic, I have been getting significantly less active time in a normal day. Before, I used to commute and walk to my favorite stores but now, I sit in front of a computer all day and order things online. Even though I try to incorporate some exercises in the week, I know it is not enough. Exercise is extremely important because it helps decrease the likelihood of obesity, low self-esteem and depression, and high blood pressure among other health problems (Ergler, Kearnes, Witten, p. 178). There are plenty of ways to be active, even during these times. For example, walking or jogging around the block, riding a bike, or doing a variety of exercise sets. For more intense workouts, aerobics, swimming, and stair climbing are good options. Also, exercise games are an effective way to stay active while gamifying the experience. A game I personally enjoyed was Ring Fit Adventure, it was a fun and addictive way to exercise and it never felt like a chore. Keeping an active and healthy lifestyle isn't just doing exercise- eating healthy helps keep our bodies well.

During these times, it is hard to find time to exercise. After being at a screen for hours, I am oftentimes too mentally drained to even begin to think about exercising. It is hard to find a balance on all the things I should be doing to stay healthy- I know I should be doing at least about 2 hours of exercise each week but sometimes, I am lucky to even reach 1 hour. However, I try to exercise when I do get the chance. I stretch in the mornings, I walk my dog, I sometimes jog back and forth in the hallway, I always take the stairs up to my apartment, and I play bass guitar for at least 30 minutes a day(I like to imagine that it strengthens my arm and back muscles because my guitar is at least 10 pounds). My life right now isn't as active as I would like it to be, so I try to pay attention to what I eat. I cook most of my meals at home, and I have been trying to drink less soda and more water. Doing these diet changes and light exercises have helped me stay a bit healthy and now that the warmer months are coming, I imagine I will have more chances to go out and stay active.

For some reason, my post looks very off so I will be pasting my response again as a reply!
