Question #1. Children have always played games of some sort or other to pass the time when given the opportunity. Naturally, as modern society has made advancements in technology, the games that children play have evolved as well. As a result, online gaming has become very popular. There are some drawbacks to being engaged in these activities, such as the immobility of the players and the prevalence of violent content featured in online games. Nevertheless, there are also many benefits that online gaming offers. Most notably, playing online games is a great way to practice and improve hand-eye coordination and skills.
Question #2. Time management is definitely something that I struggle with. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to become overwhelmed when I am extremely busy and stressed, which results in me not sleeping. Often, I just keep doing as much work as possible, for as long a period as possible, and skip out on sleep.
Question #3. There are a number of strategies that I use to help myself remember new information. Since I am a visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learner, many of these strategies involve adding visual elements through repetitive activities. To start, I always print out a physical copy of any material I need to read. Then, I annotate the text and underline important details as I read. For instance, I put a box around key words, I circle any names, and I number any steps or bullet points. Next, I rewrite all of my notes and the important information by hand on a separate piece of paper. After, I rewrite my notes again, putting them into a sequentially organized format and thematically color-coding the information. This time-consuming and labor-intensive process has become almost second nature to me because these are the types of strategies I had to engage in, as a child growing up with learning disabilities, in order to learn new information.
